Hi I'm David

I'm a husband, father, artist, and medical student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love sharing my life with my wife and our four children. We love watching movies, dancing, singing, going on hikes in the woods, and camping together. I studied Art for my undergrad degrees and now I am back in Naturopathic medical school to pursue my other passion for helping people with natural medicine. I love to learn about the majesty and wonder of the human body, and how our bodies, minds, and spirits are so interconnected to create who we are. I love reading, painting, weight training, martial arts, cooking, eating, and biking.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always believed in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. This Church has taught me about Him and His teachings and His perfect example. I know the Bible and the Book of Mormon together contain the true Gospel of Christ. Choosing to live the teachings of the Church has protected me from so many dangers, habits, and addictions. It is a practical religion. We help each other. We teach each other. We learn about health, relationships, and finances in addition to spiritual matters. All the ingredients for a happy life are found in Christ and His gospel of peace.

How I live my faith

I go to church each Sunday morning with my wife and kids. Each person has the chance to perform a different job in the church. I have been able to serve as a volunteer Boy Scout leader, toddler nursery teacher, and children's Sunday school teacher.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to touch our hearts and minds with peace, love, and warmth whenever we hear, read, or experience something that is true. If you practice tuning in to these thoughts and feelings, and pray for God's direction, you can know that these things are true. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Faith is a gift from God, so one way to increase our faith is to ask God for greater faith. We can also study the words that Christ has given to His prophets that are written in the Bible and Book of Mormon, then apply what we read and see how our lives change for the better. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe families are the important unit on Earth and in Heaven. We can live together forever with the ones we love. We build temples as sacred places where husbands and wives make promises to each other and to God.   Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Jesus taught that, " Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." John 35 We believe that baptism by immersion is the "born of water" that Jesus spoke about. God loves all of His children, and wants all of them to have a chance to understand the gospel and to be baptized if they so choose. We can be baptized in place of someone who has died without hearing about Christ's gospel while they were alive. This is one of the most beautiful signs of God's fairness, mercy, and love for all of his children. Show more Show less
