Hi I'm Tammy

I am a mom, a special education teacher, a student, and a Mormon.

About Me

Currently I am going back to school and studying how to teach students who are blind or visually impaired. When I am not studying, I love to spend time with my family hiking, skating, swimming, reading, and exploring new places. In my free time, I find it fascinating to learn and research my family history. Knowing where I came from helps me know who I am and where I'm going.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me and are present in my life daily. They have given me a plan that will help me live my life, serve others, and return to live with them some day. The Holy Ghost is my constant companion and helps guide me on this path. By listening to the Holy Ghost I am kept safe, can make good choices, and build up others around me so that they can have strength to make it through their trials. One of the best parts of being a Mormon is the knowledge I have that families can be together forever. As my family and I work hard to follow Christ's example, we know that we can return to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus together as a family unit. That makes all the difference!

How I live my faith

I live my faith each and every day, not just on Sundays. It is such a part of my daily life. It's not just my religion It's who I am. Each day I pray, teach my family to make good choices, and try to share knowledge about the church with others. On Sundays, I work with the children at church. They love to learn about Jesus and the scriptures. They are so willing to volunteer and participate in lessons. I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to serve the children. Sometimes I see them at school during the week also. They brighten my day with their smiles and I know that I am making a difference in their lives. I am also a visiting teacher. I visit five sisters each month in their homes. This gives them an opportunity to have a lesson in their home and for me to help support them in anything that they may be in need of. I love the sisters I teach. Although they may not come to church, I want them to know that they are always welcome. I miss them and would be very excited to see them return someday. A wonderful aspect of the Church is that we all have callings or responsibilities that help teach us how to be in tune to the needs of others and serve each other. How fabulous that is to work together to help teach our children and to lift each other in times of need. We all need to know we are loved and feel that love daily.
