Hi I'm Stephen Charles Thompson

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I believe that any person that has a desire to draw closer to God would feel comfortable meeting members of this church. I believe that any Muslim, Buhddist, Christian, or Jew would find that their understanding of our heavenly father would be deepened without any conflict to their own belief by studying the Book of Mormon. I feel at home attending any of these services and discussing any of these beliefs, and I see no true conflict among them. The church of the lamb of God is one church and we all stand in opposition to those that would harm our brothers or sisters.

Why I am a Mormon

When I found this church after 30 years of searching for the right church for me, I found a church of people with the same values as me. It took me 30 years to learn some of those values the hard way, but when I found this church I was ready. I found a church of people who are dedicated to charity and service to God through service to their fellow man. I found a church that believes in a living spirit that reveals itself to those that seek it. I found a church that recognizes miracles that still occur even this day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving the needs of others, by being kind and generous and loving to my fellow man as best as I am able. This refelcts in my job, my volunteer service, my ministry, my family. It is a constant struggle to remind myself to be humble, that no person is lesser than myself, to love those who are indifferent and love my enimies.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Stephen Charles Thompson
The Book of Mormon has been handed down through history through a number of authors, contributors, editors, and interpreters. It is a compilation that has no single author. Joseph Smith Jr. and some of his closest friends are credited with translating the book into English after it had been buried by the previous caretaker for a very long time. The book contains an account of Jesus Christ himself as he visited the descendents of the tribes of Abraham that had left the Middle East a long time ago. I this account, Jesus Christ himself inspected the Book of Mormon as it existed at that time and istructed the caretakers to correct an omission. Jesus Christ himself is a contributing author to this record. I believe that the holy spirit inspired and instructed the authors at every moment of its development. Show more Show less

Stephen Charles Thompson
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a part of the church of the lamb of God, the same church that God's prophets have taught since the beginning of mankind. The LDS church, as a distinct member in the great church of the lamb of God, has a beginning with the founder, Joseph Smith Jr. in the early 1800's. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Stephen Charles Thompson
The bible is the oldest record we have of the covenant between God and the Hebrew nation. It is the oldest prophecy and wisdom that comes from the people among whom Jesus christ was born. It also contains a record of the ministry of Christ and the early teachers that followed him. It contains profound wisdom, truths, and promises. Show more Show less
