Hi I'm Ben

I live in Salt Lake City with my wife and three kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah but my family moved to Idaho when I was young. Growing up in Idaho gave me close access to great places to hunt, fish, hike and ski. I went to college in Idaho and medical school in the Midwest. My wife, three kids and I now live in Utah where I'm doing my residency. We love being back in the mountains and enjoy going to the waterpark and just spending time together.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because Heavenly Father has answered my prayers. I have read and studied the Book of Mormon. When I ask in faith to know if it is true, the Spirit touches my heart and there is no denying what the answer is: Yes! It is true! I'm a Mormon because God keeps His promises. As I have tried to be obedient to the commandments, I have been blessed. Recently, my wife had a baby 7 weeks prematurely. As I sat by my son's side hour after hour, I prayed. The peace and comfort that were with me, and the miraculous recovery of my son, confirmed even more my knowledge that Jesus Christ has sacrificed for me and that Heavenly Father loves me. More than anything it is the daily, continuous blessings that remind me that the Lord has His Church on the Earth again today and that I have found it.

How I live my faith

Sharing the truths of the restored Gospel is one of the many ways I enjoy living my faith. Not only do I try to share the things that have changed my life with people not of my faith, but I visit other Mormons in their homes on a monthly basis. Many of them are struggling, as we all do at times, and I try to lift them with my testimony of the Savior. The most important way I live my faith is by teaching my children correct principles and loving my wife. The family is under attack in the world today. It is my job as a father and husband to safeguard my home through prayer, scripture study, and just being there for my family. My kids will have many challenges ahead and I want to help them prepare by teaching them to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow in His Gospel.
