Hi I'm Zach Gayan

I'm serving a mission in Fresno, CA. I love basketball and Magic!

About Me

I'm currently serving a mission in the California Fresno Mission. I have an associates degree and plan on going back to school when I complete my mission in 2015. I worked a part time job at Elite Nutrition before I left for the MTC and did some personal training as well. I love staying in shape, playing sports(played basketball in college) and board games. My favorite tv show has got to be Seinfeld. I love movies and nature documentaries. I'm usually very business and goal oriented, but I always love to laugh and make dumb jokes.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I love it! I love everything about it. I love helping people in need. Serving others. Knowing I'm part of something bigger than myself. Knowing I have help from other members whenever I need it. It's great to know my Heavenly Father loves me and cares about me individually. I love the peace and comfort that I have the truth in my life. So many people don't know what they believe or are confused about which religion is right. But I know that being a Latter-Day Saint is the only true way to understand and worship Jesus Christ and our Father in Heaven. As a missionary I want to share the truth with every person I meet and allow them to come unto Christ, and attain this knowledge for themselves. It humbles me to know Jesus Christ was crusified for me. I love the spirit I feel in church every Sunday and every time I read the Book of Mormon or teach a church related lesson. It makes me happy knowing I'm doing the right thing for myself and others when I maintain the standards and expectations of the church. I know that this is the only church that has ever had the fullness of the everlasting Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith translated it from ancient records. I know I have been called of God to be his missionary. This is the true church and I cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

I am living my faith by serving as a full time missionary in the California Fresno Mission. It's the greatest and most obedient mission in the world because we all love Jesus Christ here. The restored gospel of Christ has given me hope for my future both in this life and in the next. I strive to be more like Christ every day. I do my best to love others, to help others and to seek out those that need a hand outstretched to them. I do my best to be positive and encourage others to never give up or think that anything is more important than God. The Holy Ghost stays with me as my constant companion and while He is with me I always have the ability to change someone's life for the better. The church is true.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Zach Gayan
Faith starts with an idea of it in your head as a seed. When you ask yourself if you have faith for the first time, that is when the seed is first planted. It starts with obedience to God's commandments and belief in Jesus Christ. We can increase faith by praying to our Heavenly Father, reading our scriptures and attending church. When we start to do these things it will help strengthen our faith and be happy. As we progress we can participate in church classes, receive a calling, go home teaching, pay tithing and speak to others about the church. We receive so many blessings by being obedient to the Lord and being a good example to others. It all starts with the idea of faith and enough strength to follow through and make that first step toward our Heavenly Father and the love and blessings he gives us. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Zach Gayan
The Bible is a history of people and their dealings with Jesus Christ in Jerusalem and the Holy Land. The Book of Mormon is a history of people and their dealings with Jesus Christ on the American continent from the years 600 BC to 421AD. Both of these books are written by prophets and men that were called of God to be His messengers. Both of these books foreordain the coming of The Messiah and teach us the way to follow and worship Him. The Book of Mormon and The Bible teach of Christ and show us the way to receive our eternal salvation. Each book supports each other and has references to each other. The Bible foretells the coming of the Book of Mormon as well (Isaiah 29). Show more Show less
