Hi I'm Marie

I'm a wife. I'm a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. I am the fourth of five children and absolutely LOVE spending time with my family. I love hiking, camping, and backpacking and feel so blessed to live so close to such beautiful mountains! Having three brothers, I grew up with sports as a big part of my life and enjoy playing soccer, basketball, volleyball, and running. As a new mom, I do my best to find a balance between spending time with my son, keeping a clean home that invites the Spirit, spending time with my husband, and fulfilling my church responsibilities. Although my days are filled with tasks that may seem menial in the eyes of the world, I believe in what Alma 37:6 teaches; "by small and simple things are great things brought to pass." I strongly believe that every minute I spend playing with my son, each load of laundry I do, and every act of service I perform for my husband, is helping me create something beautiful for my family. I know of no happiness greater than what I feel everyday as I devote my life to being a wife and mother.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both raised in LDS families, so I was blessed to grow up with the gospel in my home. My family read the scriptures together and attended church on Sundays. My parents were very involved in our church and spent a lot of time working with the members in our area. As I started middle school, I began to realize that with all the temptation I faced every day at school, I could no longer rely solely on the testimony of my parents. I knew that I needed to find a testimony for myself. After spending a lot of time reading the Book of Mormon, I prayed to Heavenly Father to know if this church was true. While I did not receive an earth-shattering answer, I felt an overwhelming feeling of peace and joy in my heart. I know without a doubt that this church is true! As I have continued to follow the teachings of the Savior and have kept the commandments, I have felt so much joy and peace in my life.

How I live my faith

One of the ways I have chosen to live my faith is by service. As members of the church, we believe that when we serve the people around us we are ultimately serving God. I know that this is true! Each one of us can be better at finding simple acts of service we can do for others. I find that when I start each day with a prayer, asking God to lead me to someone who is in need of my help, I am ALWAYS given an opportunity to serve.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Marie
We believe that one of the greatest blessings of being on earth is the opportunity to have a family. We believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman who honor their marital vows and show love and respect to each other and to their children. One of the reasons why Mormons put so much emphasis on families is because we believe we can be united with our families for all eternity. This knowledge gives me so much peace. I know that if something were to happen to my husband or son, I would be able to live with them again in the life to come. Show more Show less
