Hi I'm Ann

I'm a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother, I love traveling, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My whole life is centered around my family and the church. I married my childhood sweetheart, who I met at church when I was a teenager. I was told that he was only interested in sports, but after a while I convinced him differently. We dated in high school and married after his second year of college. My husband loves sports, specifically playing baseball. When we talked of having children he told me we would have enough for a baseball team. I laughed, thinking he was kidding, and we now have 11 wonderful children. We have 34 grandchildren and one on the way plus an added bonus of 1 great grandchild. I am indeed blessed. My family is my hobby. I am their fan. My husband is a wonderful person and has always been very active in a variety of interests, and is very talented. Besides his love for sports, he loves music and played in a band. He shared his love with his children. From the time they were little my kids played sports, baseball, soccer and basketball. They also shared in his love for music. They joined a special musical group that performed all over the world. They sang and danced while my husband played in the band. I enjoyed working backstage helping with fast costume changes, staging or anything that needed to be done. We were chaperones on many of the tours around the world. They performed on cruise ships, were ambassadors on trips to China, Mexico, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas and performed in the United States in many of the states. They went to the world's fair and even sang on the steps of the capitol in Washington D.C. At every port they would sing, dance and do special church musical meetings we call firesides. Many miracles and special spiritual events happened on those trips. My children have also had great experiences in sports. Our four sons have gained their father's love for baseball. I have attended two youth world series with two of our sons. My husband was their baseball coach for over 20 years, and I hardly missed a game. My husband still plays baseball himself. For the past 23 years we have attended an annual world series in Arizona, and he and our sons and grandsons play in a father-son division together. He has won 15 world series rings to-date. We have travelled to Puerto Rico, Holland and all over the United States playing baseball. My children have also gained a love for music and sports. One daughter is a member of a performing group that made two CD's of spiritual songs. She has performed at BYU for our church leaders as well as special women’s conferences. She has also performed in many musicals in Utah and throughout the United States. Another daughter has also performed professionally in many plays and musicals in Utah. Members of my family and I have had the privilege of performing in a special pageant at the Hill Cumorah in New York, commemorating the coming forth of the Book of Mormon. It has been one of the highlights of my life. My son in law was one of the pageant directors for many years. The love for music and sports continues in my grandchildren. They perform in plays and musicals, play in bands at their schools, play sports of all kinds, and are even cheerleaders. I spend my time going from game to game, event to event and watching and cheering them on. I love it. My life involves following and supporting my family. I am their biggest fan!

Why I am a Mormon

In the scriptures it tells how I have a loving Heavenly Father. I lived with Him before I came to this earth. He loved me enough that He sent me down to earth to gain a body, get married, have children and gain as much knowledge and experience as I could and then return to live with Him once again. He loves me very much and wants me to have joy and happiness in this life. To accomplish this He has provided a means to accomplish my goal. He knew that I would make mistakes so He provided me a plan to help me with this. We call this the plan of salvation. This plan includes having a Savior to help me when I fall. My brother Jesus Christ stepped forward and said that He would come to this earth and teach us how to live and be happy. Since no unclean thing can live in the presence of Heavenly Father, He would be our mediator and atone for our sins and mistakes so that we could again go back to the presence of our Heavenly parents and live with them again. He also sent me the gift of the Holy Ghost to help declare to the truthfulness of all things and guide me in the right paths. All I have to do is listen to Him, follow His promptings and guidance and He will lead me to knowledge and prompt me to do the right things that will lead me to happiness and joy while I am here and then lead me back to my heavenly home. This knowledge is very important to me. I have had many trials in my life. Without the example and teachings of Jesus Christ and the comfort of the Holy Ghost I don't know what I would do. As the saying goes, "He never said it would be easy, but He said that it would be worth it." Heavenly Father has also given me a handicap daughter to help me and direct me. She is a peacemaker. She does not like violence or arguing. She loves everyone. It is not always easy. She has taught me patience. Her trial on earth has not been easy. She keeps reminding me that in the next life she will be able to do things that she cannot do in this life. She has a perfect faith of Heavenly Father and His love for us, of Jesus Christ and all He does for us and she asks and listens to the Holy Ghost when she needs help. She plays her church music to help comfort her. Without the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation it would be very difficult to go through the trials that I have faced. When I lost my parents and lost a granddaughter I was indeed comforted knowing that I will be reunited with them again. I love my family and it brings great comfort to know that I will be with them eternally. Besides my handicapped daughter I also have handicapped grandchildren. It will be a great joy to see them whole and well in the hereafter without the many trials that they have to face and endure now. It will be exciting to see them with a perfect body. I love my Heavenly Father, my Savior Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost who care and love me enough to send me to earth for these experiences. I know without them I would not be able to accomplish the tasks that are put before me.

How I live my faith

Serving and loving others is the key to living my faith. It brings me much happiness and true joy. I have tried to do this throughout my life. I have tried to do this at home, at church and at my children’s school. In the community, I would volunteer to help at school, with musical groups, and as a team mother in sports. I have even helped serve food at the concession stand of our local professional baseball team to help earn money for the cheerleading squad at the local high school. I love working in my church. I have taught children, teenagers, and have presided over a women’s organization. I love serving and working with all the age groups. Our women’s organization performs humanitarian service projects to help those in the world that are in need. I try to help with these projects and donate time and money to them. I always try to be honest, patient and loving to all the people I meet, sometimes by simple things like allowing others to go in front of me in a grocery line or by being courteous to other drivers. I try to keep myself healthy by exercising and trying to eat healthful foods. I pay a full tithing to my church and pay a fast-offering which helps others who are undergoing financial difficulties. This has brought many blessings into my life. One of my favorite things to do is to attend the Sacramento Temple. I love the peace I feel as I enter the temple. It is indeed a very sacred place. It is there that I feel close to my Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
