Hi I'm Cherise

I'm a Student. I'm a Teacher. I'm a Daughter. I'm a Sister. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from a small town where it is not strange to get stuck behind a tractor while driving home or to see a goat on the side of the road. I love to learn everything I possibly can. I love to bake. I love the world around me and I admire the nature that has been put on this world around us. I am the youngest of four and I love my family. I graduated from Brigham Young University - Idaho in Mathematics Education. I love to help people. I love watching the light bulb go on when they finally understand. I love physics! I have a lot to learn and the world has a lot to learn, but I love how cohesive religion and science can be.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in an LDS family. I grew up with all of the traditions of the faith. However, I never really understood why until I was sixteen years old. I was just going to church because that's what I was supposed to do. At sixteen years old I asked myself why I was going to church. Why do I go to church for three hours on Sunday? Why do I read my scriptures and say my prayers? I started asking myself these questions daily. I tried reading my scriptures every day and praying both morning and night. I asked questions and searched for answers. I listened when the old men spoke at church. Slowly, I found that my life was changing. I could feel a sense of fulfillment. I could feel a peace and safety. The biggest challenge came when my family moved from where I had grown up at sixteen years old. I decided to try the faith I had grown up with. If it could help me through the move without too much difficulty then I knew it would work. So I kept reading my scriptures and saying my prayers. Looking back now I can see that my faith did more than help me through the move. It carried me to a new way of thinking where change did not scare me. I knew things would be OK and they were. I know the gospel of Jesus Christ can make my life better and keep me joyful. It can show me who I really am. I know that Jesus Christ has restored his gospel on the Earth. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is truly the Church of Jesus Christ! That is why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I love to live what I know! It makes me happy! I find reasons to rejoice everyday! I am grateful for everything! I love to find joy in the simple things because I know that "by small and simple things great things are brought to pass" (Alma 37:6). I laugh as much as I can. I love my family and rejoice in them. I love life! I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Edmonton, Canada Mission. I do everything I can to live my life to become like my Savior, Jesus Christ. I also try my best to help others come to the knowledge of the great news of our Savior and Redeemer. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us. I live the best way I can so that I can become what Heavenly Father knows I can become. I live. I learn. I love.
