Hi I'm Maria Cunha

I was born in Brazil. I believe in families, true friendship and the acquirement of knowledge. My hobby is genealogy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a mother, I feel the responsibility to guide my children on the right path and be an example for them. Nurturing them in the love for the Savior, is my priority. I also like to share with them the love and importance of education, as well as applying this knowledge to be able to help others. I'm 53 years old and working on my degree in Family and Child Development.

Why I am a Mormon

Raised by my grandparents, I learned to love God and Jesus Christ. Very early in life I asked myself "If the Lord loves us so much why were there so many different religions? Why did He put us in a world with so much confusion?" There should be only one true Church and I prayed to find it. With the approval of my grandmother I started my search. After many years of searching I got my answer. I'm so happy that Heavenly Father listened to the sincere prayer of a little girl those many years ago. I'm a mother, I'm a grandmother, I'm a sister, I'm a daughter, I'm a wife, I'm a friend, I'm a student, and I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

I teach the youth in my ward. My calling helps me grow spiritually because the youth are very well-prepared by their families and they participate in our class discussions. They show love and gratitude toward me in my efforts to teach in a language that is not my primary language. I love my Savior and it pleases me so much to help his children find the way of happiness through making good decisions, holding to the guidance of the Holy Ghost, and drawing themselves near to the Lord.
