Hi I'm Debra

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in the south. I had a very successful career in Human Resources and am now retired.

About Me

I was raised in the Baptist church and I was a single mom for many years. I have 3 beautiful and successful children. Retirement lets me see them more often and be a part of their lives. I have 4 wonderful grandchildren. I spend my time now with my loving husband in Silver Sneakers exercise class, yoga, art class, and serving others in my community.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a very rebellious child, and did not want to live the teachings of Jesus Christ for many years. My conversion came about after my wreckless behavior hurt my children very badly and I hit bottom. I began seeking a life that would be pleasing to God and to my children. I asked God for forgiveness and slowly began to turn my life around. The Mormon Church taught me how to reconcile my life to God's will, and I will be forever grateful.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying and studying the scriptures daily. I seek out all the verses about God's promises and I underline them. I love serving people in my community and church with meals, hugs, laughs, transportation, whatever it takes. I serve in Relief Society and try to make sure the women in the church are contacted every month. We like to check on each other to make sure the temporal and spiritual needs are met. I also teach the Addiction Recovery Program.
