Hi I'm Teresa

I am a wife, a mother, a budding photographer and an aspiring world traveler, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother to two beautiful children through the miracle of adoption and am lucky enough to get to stay at home to raise them. As a family, we have spent a significant amount of time living and traveling in Guatemala and Nicaragua and hope to experience many other countries in the future. I am the wife of a wonderful husband who has been in school for a very long time but promises me he is done when he graduates from his current program. I love being married to him and consider myself very lucky that he picked me!Although I try not to let it define me, I have cystic fibrosis and living with a chronic illness has helped shape who I am as well as my relationships with my family and my Heavenly Father. I am a horrible singer, a mediocre cook, a sometimes rock climber- frequent when we live near mountains, less frequent when we don't. I enjoy photography and hope to get a lot better at it. I enjoy travelling and hope to do a lot more of it. I love my family, love life, and am content with all I have been given.

Why I am a Mormon

When it comes down to it, I am a Mormon because living by the beliefs and precepts of the Mormon church makes me happy. I love my Father in Heaven and want to return to live with Him some day and through my own searching and prayer have come to know that this is the path that will help me to get there.

How I live my faith

I think I live my faith the most through my daily actions as a mother, a wife, and a friend. As a mom, I am constantly seeking my Heavenly Father's guidance in raising my children. My concerns for them bring me to my knees in prayer continually and I try to stay worthy and open to receiving inspiration on how I can be the best possible mother for them.   As a wife, the knowledge that my husband and I can be together, as husband and wife, forever deepens my love for him, encourages me to be more humble, apologize when necessary, and have patience with myself and with him. As a friend, I strive to be Christlike in my interactions with others, to look for ways to serve and to do what I can to bring others closer to Him.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by ancient prophets living on the American continent between the years 600 B.C. and 400 A.D. Just as the Bible is the word of God to his prophets in the Old World, the Book of Mormon is the word of God as revealed to and written down by prophets leading and guiding the people in the Americas. Centuries later, Joseph Smith was led to where these records were hidden and, through the power of God, translated the writings into English and published them as The Book of Mormon.
