Hi I'm Becky

I'm a daughter, a sister, a Mom and a wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a happily married mother of 3. I graduated from college with a degree in psychology, have worked part-time in a mental health program in elementary schools. Currently, I'm staying at home with my new daughter who came as a big surprise! I love spending time with all my family. I also enjoy quilting, scrapbooking, family history work, travel and doing service in my church and community.

Why I am a Mormon

My family have been members of the church since back to the pioneer days, but that is not why I choose to be a Mormon. I have studied and prayed to know if this is the true church and I feel that it is true church of Jesus Christ. As I have grown in the church, and followed its teachings, I can see that I have been blessed in many ways. I know who I am, where I came from and where I am going after this life. I know where to find help and strength when I am troubled. I understand the importance of my family in making me truly happy. I understand that I have divine potential as a child of God. The church has taught me what is important in this life and what is not. That knowledge is so important to making good choices.

How I live my faith

I live my faith both in my personal life and in my community. I believe in the power of prayer. I attend church and feel personally edified by that worship. I read the scriptures to try to understand Jesus Christ and his teachings better. My goal is to bring my life as close as I can to the greatest example that there is, the Savior, Jesus Christ. In my church community, I serve in various ways. I have worked in leadership and teaching positions with the children, the youth and the women. I treasure those experiences. My favorite way to serve is as a Visiting Teacher. I am assigned to visit 4 women on a monthly basis. I give them a spiritual message and I see if there is any way that I can assist them in their lives. In time, we have become friends. It's interesting how when I serve others, I usually end up being the beneficiary!

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

I believe that the only way to gain salvation is through Jesus Christ or through grace. I believe that being worthy of his sacrifice requires me to do something, to live according to Christian principles and laws, although it can never be enough without the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
