Hi I'm Matt

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I moved to Colorado after graduating from dental school. I have a strange collection of interests like British bicycles, tin toys, painting, gardening, salt water fish and corals, grilling and BBQ, golf, computers, rock climbing, and for some reason I really like tree houses. I am married with one beautiful daughter and one on the way.

Why I am a Mormon

I can't imagine what my life would be like without my Mormon faith. I believe that this is literally Christ's church and that lasting happiness can be found through living the gospel. I am especially blessed by the fellowship that comes from going to church meetings and serving in the church as I have a tendency to be reclusive otherwise. One of the core teachings of the church is that this earth life is just a small part of our existence. The knowledge that we lived as spirits before this life and that we will live on after is a wonderful thing. This knowledge was impressed on me at a young age and has helped guide my life. The daily decisions and choices I make, both big and small, are different when I think of the bigger plan we are all a part of.

How I live my faith

My calling at church is to help out our ward's Bishop (congregation's leader) as a counselor. This includes supporting the Bishop by helping to organize Sunday meetings, visiting families, and helping members in need. In the past I have worked in the nursery helping to teach the young children, and as a Sunday school teacher for the high school age students.
