Hi I'm Lauren

I'm a missionary, college student, daughter, sister, and a friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the eldest in the family and have two younger brothers and a sister. I am currently serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I currently attend college and enjoy the college atmosphere. I hope to pursue a career as a lawyer when I graduate. I love music- listening to it, playing it, and creating it. I have a very diverse taste in music; I can go straight from listening to classical to rock. I've been playing the cello since I was 8 which has made music a main part in my life and it always will be. I enjoy art and I wish that I had more time to pursue it. I especially like photography and landscape art. I love to read and always keep a book in my purse in case of an emergency. The-waiting-around-for-something type of an emergency.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received my own testimony that this church is true through the witness of the Holy Ghost while I've studied and prayed. I know without a doubt that there is a God and that we are in fact His children. I know that Jesus is the Christ and that He did atone for each of us individually. I do know that He lives again and that I will see Him again. The Book of Mormon is the most inspiring book out of all of the books that I have read. I know that every word was written for a reason and I know that those words are true. Every time I read the Book of Mormon I get something different out of it since the last time I read it. Daily scripture study has truly blessed my life. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon and that he is a prophet of God. I also do know that President Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God called in this day and time. I have a special testimony of the temple and the power that is brought with regular temple attendance. I know that families can be eternal and are what matters most in the end and I am so thankful that I am sealed to mine. I also know that Heavenly Father answers our prayers. It might not be in our time or what we necessarily want to hear, but He ultimately knows what is best for us. He can see the bigger picture while most of the time we can not. Ultimately, I am a Mormon because this gospel makes me happy. Truly happy. And just not short-lived happiness, but eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

I know that I am not perfect, but I have always tried to live my faith through my actions . I try my hardest to give my callings in the church my all. I know that they are important and that they are inspired by God. I know that I have grown in the gospel when I have accepted my callings with a willing heart. When I was in Middle School and High School I was a youth leader for girls my own age. This really taught me to have compassion and leadership skills which has prepared me for college and the work force. Another calling that has really taught me to be a teacher was teaching a lesson once a month on Sunday to the women in my church. Through these callings I have learned much about the gospel and also about myself.
