Hi I'm Julie

I'm a college graduate. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Julie and I'm currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Denmark. I graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with a Bachelor's in Theatre and Speech Education and a minor in French Education. I spent four months teaching high school right before I left for Denmark. Jeg taler dansk! I've had the best time on my mission, even though the language was and is difficult. I love this country and the people in it. My favorite things to do include acting, singing, cooking, teaching, riding motorcycles and having a good time. I strongly believe in making things fun and always being yourself!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church which some people see as the reason why I'm a member. I knew at an early age that God loved me and that there was more to life than living just for myself. I have remained a member of the Church my whole life because I feel no greater joy than to share those basic truths. My family is extremely important to me and I know how much the Gospel has blessed us. I know that a strong foundation of faith is not built without work. Even though I was born into the Church, I have still had "trials of faith" and things I didn't understand about life or the Gospel itself. I came to know that the Book of Mormon is true by reading it and praying about it with an open mind and open heart. I've asked God the question "why?" many times in my life. I know that faith is a principle of action; without exercising my faith and questioning it, it would never grow stronger. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I've asked the hard questions and sought the answers. I've done the "work" to find the truth and there is no better work and no bigger blessing in my life than the knowledge I have of the Restoration of God's true church.

How I live my faith

Right now, I am a full time missionary for the Church. I wear a black name tag and try to share the Gospel in anyway possible. Often times that means stopping people on the street or knocking on doors. Being a full time missionary means 24/7 dedication. We teach lessons about the gospel to those who invite us into their home or would like to know more. Sometimes I find myself working in gardens or performing other types of service. I have another missionary with me at all times, who is called my companion and we work together to strengthen each other, study together, find and teach. It's a busy but wonderful life. Before my mission, I was involved in organizing activities for the Church in my university congregation. I've also been in choirs and helped direct them and leadership positions in the young women's organization. I taught all women classes on Sunday and participated in Visiting Teaching, which is a program set up for women in the congregation to visit and help each other.
