Hi I'm Jim

I teach dental hygiene students. I like to cook. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm married and have a son that recently turned 19. I work part-time as a dental hygiene instructor. I enjoy working outdoors. My main hobby is producing, preparing, and eating food! I live in the country. Each spring and fall I plant a few fruit trees, nut trees, and berry bushes. I've invented my own recipes since I was in high school. I make almost all the bread our family eats. I grind my own whole wheat flour. We also have 5 chickens that provide us with fresh eggs. We also have 3 friendly, mixed-breed dogs.

Why I am a Mormon

I met the missionaries when I was stationed in the Navy in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They taught me the purpose of life. This is something I often wondered about since I almost died at birth. I read the Book of Mormon and discovered for myself that it is true. I know that this really is Christ's approved and divinely authorized church. Why would I be anything else?

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the minister over our congregation. Our congregation is called a "branch", and I am called the "branch president". All of our branch leaders (and myself) serve voluntarily without pay. Our reward is the good feeling that we get when we serve others and help them come closer to Christ. I try to set a good example to my dental hygiene students. I do my best to show them how to be great hygienists. I also strive to teach them how to be ethical and kind to both patients and fellow workers.
