Hi I'm Lloyd

I grew up in Idaho, Served a church mission church in Germany, Married my sweetheart & raised 6 children in Oregon. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been a Mormon all my life. I grew up In Idaho and served a mission for the church in Germany. My wife and I met in grade school and married after my mission. We have 6 children and 28 grandchildren and counting! I love the out of doors which is probably why I have planted a fruit orchard at age 60. We have about 1,000 trees of peaches, apples and pears and love the work of nurturing and caring for them. Any day spent in the orchard is a great day. I have a degree in Computer Science from back in the dark ages of computers and own a small computer consulting company. I also love building and flying remote control airplanes. I have a fleet of about 5 aircraft in varying degrees of flight readiness. We have received a mission call from the church and will be serving in Stockholm Sweden from October 2017 to approximately March 2019

Why I am a Mormon

I love the hymn "As the dews from heaven distilling" That is how I have gained my testimony. I haven't had earth shattering experiences. I have just had hundreds of small evidences that my Father in Heaven knows me and loves me. Here a little and there a little through all the ups and downs of being a son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and disciple lifes experiences have over and over again testified to my soul that He knows me and loves me. Over the years these experiences have built to a firmly seated knowledge of Him and His Beloved Son.

How I live my faith

For many years I have worked with the Scouts and other young men in the church. Being a Scout Master was lots of fun for me. Not only did I have the chance to help many young men develop skills that will help them throughout their lives but I also got the chance to share my faith with them as we worked and camped together. For most of the last decade I've worked with 2 other men who lead one of the stakes-a geographical area of the church. We ask others, such as Bishops, to serve in the church and spend most of our time teaching them and helping them in their church assignments. It is a great work. I have come to see even more clearly than ever before in my life that God indeed knows all of His children. He loves them and wants them to experience the joy He intended when He created this earth for us. It is uplifting to see all the good people do for one another.
