Hi I'm Mathew.

I went on a mission to Alaska, I am a "Knight in Shining Armor", and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young-single adult who is starting real life in a challenging world. I am working and going to college preparing for what lies ahead with the competitive world that we live in. There are many things that I am trying to be involved in, such as school, work, family, friends, and interests. I enjoy recreation, with sports and social activites. My Family and I also like to recreate history, especially with some armor and outfits from the middle-ages. I enjoy spending time with my family and being creative, my dad loves history and my mom enjoys sewing. We use our talents to try to have fun and to teach and help people. It's important to discover and harness your talents so you can help yourself and those around you. You can make a difference by what you share.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many challenges in the world. My faith has helped me know what is worthwhile and what isn't. My religion is a big part of my life. It has shaped who I am. As I have grown up in the church I have learned that the way you treat others and the attitude you have about life has a huge impact on how happy you are. Jesus Christ is the center and focus of the LDS church, He is the center of my life. As I try to focus on Him and his teachings I am more happy, I have more peace, I have direction and understanding about life. His Gospel helps us in every aspect of our lives, I know that to be true for myself and my family. He is the answer on how we can be happy in this life and shows us how we can live with God again through his suffering for our sins. Christ is our perfect example, He loves us, he has died for our sins, and invites all to come follow Him. I have been able to share my love and desire to follow my Savior with many people and I have been able to invite others to come unto him. The Gospel is the only way to have eternal joy and will help us as we have faith in him.

How I live my faith

Besides the day-to-day walk of living by truth and trying to do what is right, there are many oppurtunities in the church to serve, help, and teach the gospel to people of all ages and backgrounds. I love to do service wether it is to open a door for someone or more physical service like helping a family move in or out of a home. The church is there to help people physically and spiritually. I also have had oppurtunities to visit specific families to find out if they need help and to share brief messages that lift, encourage, and inspire. There are many activites that are intended to be of support and build faith in God. I also had the oppurtunity to serve a 2 year, full-time mission in Alaska with limited contact with family and a rigourous schedule. Our purpose was to help others come unto Christ and to serve everyone we could.
