Hi I'm Paul,

I grew up in the north of England. I am a student, studying Business & Management. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am studying business at a local college. I play football every week, I work hard on my assignments and spend a lot of time with friends and serving in the community. I live in Huddersfield and have done all my life. I like to earn money and save money. Keep it saved away for a rainy day. I work part time whilst studying to keep money going in to my savings.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the joy and happiness I feel every day because I am doing what god wants me to do, to know that I am his son, to know he has a plan for me, to know that he will guide me and help me in my studies and with my family if I do what I have been taught to do. That is, to say my prayers every day, to read the Bible and Book of Mormon. To go to church every week and want to learn. To share the gospel with other people and to go to the temple and spend time there

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways; my church responsibilities include helping the 17 year old young men understand the importance of priesthood power, to go and help fellow members of my local community and to invite them to draw closer to their saviour, Jesus Christ. I also teach on a Wednesday night, I help young men and women who are preparing to go and do two years volunteer work for our church, going to many countries and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. I draw close to Jesus Christ everyday by reading the book of mormon and the bible.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Paul,
A testimony is knowing that something is true. If you were to see a red pencil, you would know it was a red pencil. It is the same as a testimony. You have a testimony, or a witness, that the pencil you have seen is red. Just as when people say they have a testimony of something. It is something they know to be true Show more Show less

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Paul,
The prophet today is Thomas Monson. He is the leader of the church. In his career he has been in the US navy and also in a newspaper press business. He has served in the church for many years and has vast experience with both the physical side of life and also the spiritual side in life. His life is a model for how we can live our own, he is a happily married man with children and his family are central to his happiness. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Paul,
The scriptures in reality are books with words printed on them. But they are a guideline to our lives, the words do not change but our circumstances do. We can gain strength from what is written and explained in the scriptures Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Paul,
No is the simple answer to this question. We hold Joseph Smith very highly but we do not worship him. He has done a lot for the world but he is not a god. God our Father and his son Jesus Christ are the only people we worship. Show more Show less
