Hi I'm Brendon

I'm an Electrical Engineer and I love to build things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing basketball and working with youth. I enjoy flying remote control aircraft and fixing just about everything. When i was 11 my father left the garage open and i taught myself to weld. I'm a husband and father of 2 beautiful chidren and I love spending time playing with them. I love talking to people, especially about problems wether they be mine or theirs. I enjoy philisophical discussions about anything and i love the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the gospel of Jesus Christ found within has brought me a level of joy that i never could have imagined. I was born into a family whose parents joined the church in their late 20's. I had all the oportunities of being raised in the church but this alone is far from sufficient in knowing that what i believe is true. As a youth i had no real knowledge of the truth of my beliefs. It wasn't until i prepared to serve a mission that i realized what i had. Through a variety of the most profound spiritual experiences that i can hardly describe i came to the conclusion that Jesus Christ indeed lived and lives today as the son of the God. Also, i know that they answer my prayers and anyone elses who has enought faith to offer on with sincerity. I believe that the greatest thing we can do as God's children is take that leap of faith, which can sometimes turn into a marathon of faith depending on our circumstances. As we go into the unknown with prayer and study, calling on the Lord for clarification concerning the truth, we will recieve answers. I recall asking for months in prayer for an answer to an important question. Wondering if i was going to get one to be rewarded with an answer as if it were spoken outloud. I followed my answers and it has brought me great joy. I know that anyone can have that if they endure in the dedication to the Lord.

How I live my faith

Once a answer to our prayers has been obtained and we know what is true we have the map to our journey of life. Matthew 1129-30, "Take my yoke on you, and learn of me for I am meek and lowly in heart and you shall find rest to your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." This scripture always confused me as i always thought it was more work going to church and doing all the things that the Lord asked of us. Well, i was right. It is more work but what i found is that when we submerse ourselves in the service of the Lord and others that the burdens of that service become easier than any other labor. As a servant of the Lord and posseser of the knowledge of the gospel we receive a map of life. There is no doubt or confusion in the path of the rest of my life. Do i know where i will be in 10 years? Absolutely not, but that is not for me to worry about. As i give up my life and give it in service to Jesus Christ I become his and he will take care of me. Now, don't misunderstand. This doesn't mean i don't need to look for employment or ignore my options of higher education. What it means is that the Lord will take care of us as we press forward on a known path. That known path is what lightens the load and allows me to press forward. In the church i'm responsible for the boys 12-18 years old. I work to now pass on the oportunities that i had to find out the truth of the things we believe. As i see my young men make correct decisions it continues to lighten the load of service and i realize i'm not serving them. Mosiah 217, "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God" I conclude with a suplication to you, 1 Thessalonians 521, "Prove all things hold fast that which is good." Step out in the dark and ask God if these things are true. If you do so he will not allow you to be deceived but will answer you with clarity and truth.
