Hi I'm Cassie Duncan

I'm a geek into RPGs, divorced, working as a sub helping Special Ed kids and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of five children, I was married for five years, but he didn't want to stay together or have kids or go to church. I love to read and draw and write journals for the rpgs I go to. I am kinda a nerd, I like the Big Bang Theory, and Sheldon is my favorite character. I work in Special Ed. I am usually pretty quiet until I get to know you. My sense of humor is very dry. I don't pick up on nonverbal ques very well. I like video games and movies and some tv, but I also like camping and hiking and riding my bike. I only went to two years of college, but I'm self educated in many things. My favorite color is aqua or teal. I like projects that involve fixing up a house. I got my family to paint all five bedrooms a few years ago, but we ran out of money to buy paint for the rest.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and always took it for granted. I got baptized because everyone got baptized when they turned 8, and I wanted to do what was right. I was pretty sure the church was true then, but only because it made sense to me. When I was 16 I read the Book of Mormon on my own. I had read it with the family before, but never on my own. After I finished I prayed fro an answer as to whether it was true, like Mormon says you should at the end. My answer was a clear voice in my head telling me to stop asking because I already knew it was true. I have prayed about bishops and prophets and they are called of God. I have prayed about personal decisions in my life and have grown better because of it. The teachings of this church are truly the only way to have joy in this life and the one to come.

How I live my faith

I go to church every sunday I can. When I am sick I don't go, or if I am far away I attend another ward. Right now my calling is to be the ward bulletin specialist. The ward is a congregation. I get emails from people in the ward who plan activities, or know of upcoming events. They tell me what is happening, and i put that information in our bulletin. Our ward is very busy, so we have a calendar laid out on the inside with all the events in the next month. We also have a contact list. On the front the Bishop our ward leader, like a Pastor wrote our ward goals for the year, and so every sunday I get to church early to print the bulletin with all this information. In other wards I have worked with the children in Primary teaching the 3 and 4 year olds, and then I got to teach the 7 year olds the next year. I have also been the ward chorister, that means that when they played the music, I would wave my arm in a measured manner to direct the tempo. I go to church Young Single Adult dance every other friday night. The music I don't think is all that great, not very danceable, but it's free. And other people like the music. I try to be the best example I can be to my family and friends, and co-workers.
