Hi I'm Sonja.

I'm a mom, a student, a photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a student taking photography and art courses at a local community college. I am a freelance photographer and love photographing families and weddings. I have an adorable daughter and a sweet husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know this church is true. I love this church and everything it stands for. I joined the church a little over a year ago and it was the best decision I ever made. Nothing has brought me the peace and joy that this church has brought into my life.

How I live my faith

In my church ward I organize activities for the ladies in our church. I love having the opportunity to serve them in this way. I also love to use my skills as a photographer to serve families in our church.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormons are most definitely Christians. In fact, Mormons are some of the most Christ-like people I have ever met. We strive to be like Christ in our daily actions and love him and rely on him with everything in us.  Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

I was once one of the people who called the Mormon Church a cult. I did it because I was only going off of misinformation that others gave me. I believed things about the church that were not true. Once I learned the truth of what the church was about and how it operates I came to realize that this church is not a cult in any way shape or form. The definition of a cult is a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader. The Mormon Church is not a false church. It is true. We are not extremists who push away from the outside world. We live in society as normal people. The only thing extreme about us is our love. If others got to know us they would see just how normal we are. We do have a leader, but he is not someone who is trying to lead us astray with false doctrine. He is someone who has genuine love for everyone and a real intent to serve and sacrifice for others. Every organization needs a leader or it will fail. People are afraid of things that are different or new, so often times these things get misbranded as something that they are not. However, you will often find that if you take the time to get to know the organization, the people, the doctrine, and the practices, that it is all quite beautiful and not at all like a cult. Cults oftentimes are exclusive, close their doors to outsiders, and hide their practices. We welcome everyone with open arms. We have nothing to hide and want to share our faith with you because of the happiness it brings to us.   Show more Show less
