Hi I'm Bo

I'm an adventurer, I'm an optimist and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I enjoy the outdoors, everything from hiking and camping to all kinds of sports and games. I am a big Oregon Ducks and BYU fan. I'm a positive person who always tries to see the good in situations and in people. I love to problem solve and as such I'm a bit of handyman of sorts and enjoy working on a variety of projects from building things to fixing cars. I currently attend BYU in Provo, UT where I'm pursuing a degree in Facility and Property Management. Ultimately the dream is to end up with my own property management company and own rental properties, both locally and internationally. I love to travel and have quite an extensive list of places I'd enjoy visiting given the time and means to make it there one day.

Why I am a Mormon

I'll start by telling you that I was not raised in the LDS church. My parents and siblings to this day aren't members of the church (with the exception of my younger sister who has since been baptized). I owe the blessings of being a member of this church and truly coming to know my Savior, Jesus Christ, to a friend in high school who invited me. Shortly after graduating I accepted and soon found myself actively engaged in many of the activities that the church has to offer. Upon further learning about the beliefs of the church, ultimately reading the Book of Mormon and praying to Heavenly Father, asking if it was true, I received my answer. It wasn't a voice, a dream/vision or any kind of spectacular miracle as many people wait for. It came very subtly, as something I could feel in my heart, calm and peaceful. Upon praying I knew that it was true, I could feel it. I decided to take that feeling on faith and was soon baptized. Since that day my knowledge and understanding of the Gospel and of Heavenly Father's plan for us has continued to grow little by little as I've kept active in searching the scriptures, praying and attending church regularly. Those who serve in the church are by no means perfect, but my desire to become better and more like my Savior is what motivates me to continue coming each and every Sunday.

How I live my faith

Having received and answer to the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon I came to know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was in fact Christ's church on the earth today. I decided in that moment that I would never refuse an opportunity to serve another person or within the church regardless of what I was being asked to do since ultimately it was God who was inviting me through the mouth of His appointed priesthood leaders. Having made that decision has helped grow personally and spiritually in ways that I never could have imagined. I was once mortified at the idea of speaking publicly but after having accepted numerous invitations to speak am rather comfortable with it. Likewise, I volunteered for service as a full-time missionary where I was called to the Dominican Republic speaking Spanish. At that point in my life I couldn't have put a single sentence together in Spanish and here I was tasked with not only learning the language but assigned to preach the Gospel using it. Needless to say, I accepted and am fluent in Spanish to this day thanks to the help from a loving Father in Heaven who supported me through the whole experience.
