Hi I'm Curtis

I was a bike racer as a kid. Now as a grandfather, I am still "racing" my bike, but to work! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors. I enjoy riding bikes because it keeps me fit, and it is fun to be outside. I also like that when you bike ride, you see more and hear more of the world around you because you are not in an enclosed vehicle traveling at high speeds. I commute by bicycle and train, but sometimes I ride all the way to work which is a 70 mile ride both ways. I also enjoy running in the mountains where it is peaceful and quiet. My favorite thing to do is spend time with friends and family. Next to my faith in God, I consider family to be the most important thing in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that following him is essential to our life here and in the hereafter. I am a Mormon because I believe that this church most closely resembles the church that Jesus created anciently, both with His teachings and with a prophet and apostles. More importantly I believe that the scriptures teach that there would be an apostasy from the church that Jesus set up anciently, and that Jesus would personally restore it again at a later time. I believe that this has happened and that He is leading us today through these modern day prophet and apostles that he restored to the earth.

How I live my faith

I believe when Jesus was on the earth, that he lived in a way that we should follow. One of these ways was service. I believe that living our faith is effectively serving God and our neighbor. I find that when I am in His service, that I feel a greater sense of peace and fulfillment in my life. I serve in various functions in my church, but I also try to serve in where needed in my community, such as teaching first aid skills to youth groups, etc. I believe as I do these things that God supports me in my life and in my struggles.
