Hi I'm Laura

I love the beach and love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home mom and married to a wonderful, supportive man. We are almost 'empty nesters' with our oldest sons in college, another serving an LDS mission in Argentina and one daughter at home. I'm entering a great chapter of my life where I finally have time to pursue some interests and projects that have been waiting in the wings. I enjoy singing and for the past 8 years have sung in an all women's group that performs for women's luncheons, at active living retirement homes, socials and company parties. I enjoy sewing projects - but not making clothes. I'm currently digitizing our older family pictures and home videos. As a family we love the outdoors - snow skiing in the winter and camping and boating in the summer.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active LDS home but there came a time in my early twenties when I had to know for myself that the gospel of Jesus Christ was found in his restored church - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm a Mormon because of the joy and peace brings to my life. Because of the blessings of the priesthood I have been baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost to guide me in my decisions. I can apply the atonement every day in my life - not only to repent and be forgiven, but knowing that Jesus Christ understands any challenge or heartache I might experience and is there to succor run to aid me. By choosing to be married in the temple, I know I can have a marriage and family that will last not only this life but for all eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by starting my day with prayer and scripture study. I love the words of the prophets in ancient times as well as the words of our living prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I love getting to know other women in my congregation by visiting them and serving them - whether it's babysitting, taking meals or working on a project together. I enjoy serving with the youth - encouraging them to keep the commandments, follow Christ and provide wholesome, fun activities for them to enjoy together.
