Hi I'm Devon

My family is everything to me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a dad of three, and I couldn't be more happy! I work in the construction industry, and try to live by the motto of 'work like no one else, so you can live like no one else'. I love to spend time with my little gang outdoors. Seeing my little girls' reaction the first time she sees a new animal is priceless. The joy I get from these little kids and their pure outlook on life is incomparable. I'm a pretty typical guy who loves to have fun with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know I can be with my wife and kids forever. Very simple. Without my wife and kids, I'm nothing. I really love them and will do whatever it takes to be with them forever. I love that our Heavenly Father has given us all the chance to live eternally as families. The road to eternal life with my family is difficult. Being a Mormon isn't easy. It requires a lot of hard work and effort. BUT...there isn't anything on this earth of any value that comes without effort and sacrifice. The struggle makes us better people and stronger. Hopefully I can live my life so that my kids will be proud to call me their Dad.

How I live my faith

In my little corner of the world I try to be around to help people where I can. I get to go out and visit other families in the area a few times a month and find a lot of joy in being able to work towards a greater good in my community. I have made so many great freindships and am constantly learning from other people. Being a Mormon has given me so many opportunities to find new friends and grow in ways I never knew possible.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Men by nature tend to be lazy. Without the responsibility I feel as a priesthood holder, I would most likely be much less of a husband and father than I should be. I am married to a woman who like most women is far more qualified to hold the priesthood than I am. I feel that the Lord gave men the responsibility to SERVE in the priesthood so that as men we would have some siginificant responsibility in life. If women were to hold the priesthood, like with many other things in life, the men would gladly watch from the sidelines and hardly ever get involved. Show more Show less
