Hi I'm Tye Barrett

I'm Canadian, a hunter, a Long Range shooting enthusiast and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently returned from serving in the Arizona Phoenix Mission for two years. It was great! I now live in Alberta Canada where I work at an oil plant producing heavy oil. I do a lot of long range rifle shooting and enjoy competing in various shooting competitions. I enjoy being outdoors and taking time to marvel at Gods creation. I enjoy hunting and fishing and Back-packing especially when I am able to do those things with my family. I have great parents who have supported me in all aspects of life. I have a younger brother who I love to spend as much time as possible with. We are a close family even though I am currently far away from them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because of the Joy and Peace that I have experienced from learning and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My decicion to be a Mormon and to serve a mission for two years comes from innumerable times when the Holy Ghost (those good, peaceful feelings) have confirmed the truth to me. It seems that whenever I have a question about the teachings of Christ, and when I do my part to search and work to understand how Christ taught the principal, I am then able to ask God through Prayer and allow the Holy Ghost to confirm that truth to me. In Short I am a Mormon because every question that I have ever had which relates to my relationship to God and His plan for me has been answered through reading the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, and then taking the time to ponder and understand them. I then ask God if the answers I have gotten are true and allow the Holy Ghost to bring that confirmation to me through the feelings and thoughts of the heart.

How I live my faith

I attend a ward (congregation) that is exclusively comprised of single adults ages 18-30. I help out with the sunday school program which is the more interactive part of our church services. During this class everyone learns from each other about Gospel topics and how induviduals APPLY the Doctrine of Christ into their own lives. The Sunday school is much like a scripture study discussion. I love sharing the gospel with others and have felt indescribable joy as I have seen people come closer to their Savior Jesus Christ.
