Hi I'm Susan

I grew up in PA. I play the violin, and I'm trying to learn Spanish. I'm crazy about my husband and 3 sons. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in beautiful, green Pennsylvania. I loved that my family took road trips all over. The history of the East coast still appeals to me. I grew up in a large musical family, 4 sisters and 1 brother. We had such fun playing together, and still do. I play the violin and majored in music in college. I love that now my own family can share music together. I enjoy being with my family, talking, playing games or whatever. I love reading and learning. I'm drawn to gardening and landscaping. I like to jog or walk with friends who help me chat away the time. I like to play racquetball. I love nuts! And chocolate with nuts is even better. Being a mom is the most challenging and rewarding thing I do. I'm adjusting to this new season in my life, when my first son has left for college.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I feel it is Jesus Christ's church on the earth today. I believe this church is His gospel restored to the way He led his church when he was on the earth. We have a living prophet, as in days of old, who speaks to us about current issues - video games, the internet, pornography, etc. And I love that and need that guidance as I'm trying to raise my children. We have temples, as in days of old. What a strength that is for me, to be able to go to the temple as often as I'd like to get answers to questions and problems in my life. I love the Bible and having more of Jesus Christ's teachings in the Book of Mormon. Again and again I have felt that book to be true, and it is wonderful having both the Bible and the Book of Mormon in my life.

How I live my faith

My desire to follow Jesus Christ affects everything I do - the movies I watch, the books I read, the way I spend my time--whether playing games with my family or going on regular dates with my husband. It affects the way I spend my money--trying to be out of debt, and keep food and water on hand for emergencies. I love how I'm taught to read my scriptures every day and pray every day. When I do that, it reminds me to be a little kinder, and to be a little better. This gospel is more than going to church every Sunday. It is a constant journey.
