Hi I'm Andy H.

I grew up in the western United States and now live and work abroad, as a doctor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to describe myself by my family - married to my sweetheart oh-so-many years ago, father of four wonderful kids, some of whom are married, and now I'm a grandfather also. At work, I'm a family doctor. My wife and I are currently following a dream of working all over the world - employed by our country's Foreign Service - the diplomatic corps. We love the adventure of meeting and working with people of many backgrounds, wherever we find them.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents both found the gospel of Jesus Christ when they were young, along with their families. I count myself as highly blessed, since they have taught me from a very young age, about Christ's restored church. I have found that I am happiest when I live by the teachings of Jesus Christ, and I have felt His love when I repent, because I make plenty of mistakes. The strong feelings from the Holy Spirit that I feel, reassure me that God loves me, and that I can get closer to Him in this church, and by making & keeping the sacred covenants that are offered to me here.

How I live my faith

While living abroad, I have lived among Muslims, Christians, and people of no faith at all. I am challenged in my beliefs every day, and constantly go back to God in prayer and study to see where I can improve and do better as a disciple of Christ. Wherever we live, I draw strength from meeting with others of my own faith, who are imperfect like me. It's a great thing to draw strength from each other - both in our meetings, and as we see each other during the week. Now that our children are all living on their own, my wife and I also gain spiritual strength by staying close to them - writing & calling often, seeing them when we can. As they grow and remain strong, making good choices for their own lives, we all are strengthened. And we love to be together!
