Hi I'm Chris Wayne

I smile at the most inappropriate times. I'm learning Cambodian...And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Canada learning two languages- English and Mandarin. I love spending time with my family and friends. I find excitement in new experiences, faith in new challenges, and hope in Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Out of my large extended family, my family is the only one that is Mormon. When I was a child my father, who was then a member of the church, introduced my mother to the church. Since then, I've grown up in a family that is centered around Mormon beliefs. When asked about why I am a Mormon, I constantly get the prejudice assumption that "you were born in the church so that is why your Mormon". Although that is partially the case, everyone has their choice. Ezra Taft Benson, in A Witness and a Warning, said "Every man eventually is backed up to the wall of faith, and there he must make his stand". I chose to be a Mormon because I wanted to! I can think of no better time in my life then when I have been following the Mormon beliefs. As I have searched diligently to find God, He has allowed me to find Him and feel of his love for me- like a blanket wrapped tightly around you. To know that I can talk to Him whenever I want leaves me with nothing to fear!I have come to know something better than happiness- joy, pure joy. My conscience is always clear. I do not have anything to be afraid of. Every time I have a concern or challenge, I know that God will be there to listen to me and help me. I have the assurance that I will never be alone, even when friends or family disappear, for God will always be there with me. What more could I possibly want the peace of mind and knowledge of where I came from, why I'm on this planet so called earth, and where I'm going? No amount of money could buy that and that's WHY I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by the actions I do and the example I show. I love meeting new people, listening about their experiences, and seeing how they view the world. I'm always looking for ways that I can be a better person. I'm serving the best two years as a missionary for the church.
