Hi I'm Jan

I am a wife and mother of 5 sons. I am a lifelong Californian and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I love to cook, dance and spend time with my family. I love life and learning new things. My family is my number one priority.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. Being a follower of Christ and a member of His church brings me such joy and peace. It IS my life. Although life is never easy or perfect, being a Mormon gives me and my family an exact path to follow - I know where I came from and I know where I am going. I know what is truly important and what my Heavenly Father wants for me. God lives. Jesus Christ lives. He is my Savior and Redeemer! Following Jesus Christs' example will always bring us happiness. His gospel gives me constant hope to continue in this world and to endure to the end.

How I live my faith

I love to serve in my church and in my community. I am privileged to work and serve with the youth in the church in my area. Once a week, we get together for a fun activity or a service project for our church or the community. It is so cool to watch the youth grow and learn from these experiences. I also teach a Sunday lesson to the youth girls. Even though I am their teacher, I learn a lot from them too. Visiting teaching is also a very important way to serve. Once a month, I visit three women from the church in my area. We read and pray together. We laugh and cry together. I make sure that their needs and the needs of their families' are being met. I also get visited and taken care of by my visiting teachers. It is such a blessing! Our family also loves to help the missionaries!

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Jan
No person can enter the kingdom of God without being baptized. Christ set the example for us by being baptized. The Savior taught that baptism is a rebirth. When we are baptized we begin the process of being born again and become spiritual son and daughters of Christ. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"
