Hi I'm Holly

I'm a photographer, a dreamer, a future Social Worker and a pillow junkie. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of eight children. I have 22 neices and nephews! I love to take pictures and just chill. I have a lot of hopes and dreams for my future and I'm learning to put those into action! I will be attending school in the fall to receive my degree in Social Work. My dream is to work as a social worker and to help improve my community. I also am a huge pillow junkie!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was 8 years old. I remember feeling the love of my Savior that night at my baptism. My older brother was giving an analogy of a brand new shiny penny. He told me that after I got baptized I would be like that shiny penny clean. I felt the Spirit of our Heavenly Father confirm the truth of that to me. I have since come to understand more fully my testimony of our Savior and that this is truly His church once again on the earth in the exact order it was when He was here. I have felt the Holy Ghost confirm to me that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. I know that they restored their church once again to this earth. I'm very grateful to be a member of that church and to let people know how much our Heavenly Father loves us. He loves us so much that He brought the fullness of the gospel back to the earth.

How I live my faith

My faith is the foundation of who I am as a person. Any decision I make is based on whether it will bring me closer to Jesus Christ or take me further away from Him. If it brings me closer, I do it. If it takes me away, I don't. Or at least I try to live that way. I am imperfect which makes me very grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ. One of my favorite primary songs that often comes to my mind says, "If the Savior stood beside me, would I do the things I do? Would I follow His example and try harder to be true?" I try to live my life in that way. If the Savior stood beside me, would I do the things I do. I want to become like my Savior in how I treat people. He is our perfect example and I want to be with Him again.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

For me as I watch the sun rise in the mornings or set in the evenings, I cannot deny that god exists. Also, when I hold a baby, I can feel that they are so fresh from the presence of our Heavenly Father and know so many more of the mysteries of this world than we do. I know that God exists because of all of the amazing creations around me. Our own bodies are so intricate that I can't deny that God exists. I feel a power beyond myself helping me make decisions and finding purpose in this life. Everything testifies of our Heavenly Father's love for us. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Grace is the taking away of our sins and being shown mercy through the love of the Savior. It is also the lifting that the Savior does for us to help us overcome our sins and weaknesses. We must access the Atonement of Jesus Christ by repenting of our sins and then He shows us grace by helping us not to do them again and taking the guilt away. The Savior was lifted upon the cross so that He could lift us up and that is grace. Show more Show less
