Hi I'm Tyler
Hey! I am a full-time missionary serving in Houston, Texas. I was born and raised in the great state of Utah. I have a speech impediment. I graduated from high school with an emphasis in Math and Science. I play the piano, organ, clarinet, and a perliphera of brass instruments. After high school I moved north and attended a semester of college. My major is Biological Engineering with pre-med. Although my major seems complicated it really isn't. I also joined the Western Swing Club. It was a ton of fun. I only dropped one girl. I took only one semester so I could serve a mission. I'm loving everyday of it!
Why I am a Mormon
One thing that I love about the Mormon church is that every member is a convert. My parents were both members of the church when I was born. My mom's family were already Mormon, and my dad joined the church when he was 18. Although I grew up in the church, I still had to find for myself that it is true. I don't know the exact day that I received my answer to my prayer, but I know that the church is true. The church has helped shape me into who I am today. Through the teachings of Christ I have developed faith, honesty, patience, and integrity. Although I always have room to improve, I know that I can be a better person because of my faith. I know the church is true because I have seen the blessings in my family. Like every family, sometimes it doesn't run smooth. I know that the gospel has always given my family common ground. No matter what happens, we know the church is true. That helps us overcome the hard times and help my family be unified. I know that the church is true. I know that through the church I have developed a stronger faith in Christ. My faith in Christ has always been a support to me in my life. I know that through Christ I can experience the peace and joy that comes with repentance. I know that I can renew my promises I made when I was baptized every week when I take the sacrament. I know that when I do that I can feel the Holy Ghost help me. I know that God answers prayers. If God answered the prayer of a kid who has troubles speaking, He will answer yours too.
How I live my faith
I always try to be an example of Jesus Christ. When I was a teenager I received my Eagle Scout award. I made 200 hygiene kits and shipped them to Mexico. I played the piano for charities, church, and school. I served as a helper for the special need members during high school and college. I have taught at meetings, classes, and activities before my mission. As a full-time missionary, serving in East Houston, I have the responsibility to find, teach, and baptize new members of the church. I love it!
