Hi I'm Doug Tree

I know who I am. I know God's plan. I'll follow Him in faith.

About Me

I live near Los Angeles with my wife and two children. We love going to the beach, riding our bicycles and laughing together.

Why I am a Mormon

The teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints enlighten and give clarity to some of life's greatest questions. There is a very beautiful and real way by which someone can know if these teachings are true (even for an analytical type person like myself). Search. Ponder. Pray. (see Moroni 10:3-5) For some, searching/studying and analyzing/reasoning/pondering will occupy a great part of this search for truth. For others, prayer will be the primary focus. No matter how you go about it, answers will become clear if you include each of these three steps and do them with real intent. By this method, I have come to know that God exists, that He is our Heavenly Father and He loves us, that His Son Jesus Christ is our Savior, that the Lord calls Prophets to teach us, that the Lord has called a Prophet and Apostles again in our time, and has restored His Gospel with all the teachings and ordinances necessary to return to live in God's presence. There will come a time when you will desire to know if these things are true. When you do, I know you will receive answers, because they are true. This desire first came to me when I was a young boy. I wanted to know if the Priesthood (authority to act in God's name) was real.

How I live my faith

My faith is very important to me and my family. With only so much time in a day, we have discovered a great joy in serving not individually but as a family as often as possible. When we read, pray, serve, teach and share together, our family relationships and happiness in the home only strengthen. It is easy to recognize that we receive more blessings by living our faith together as a family than by anything else we can do here on Earth. Sharing the gospel has become part of our family mission. We pray together for missionary opportunities. We get to know our neighbors and those whom the full-time missionaries are teaching. It is fun to make new friends and share what makes us happy. It is especially exciting to see our young children be bold in sharing their testimonies.
