Hi I'm David Colvin

I grew up on the western US coast. I am a father of five and grandfather of nine. I am a management consultant, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am first a husband to my beautiful wife, a father to five grown children, and a grandfather of nine. I have a Masters degree in management and worked as a city manager, strategic planner, management training director and organizational development consultant. Most of my career was spent working with government and education elected officials and executives. I am very active and love to run, bike, lift weights, ski and swim. I also attend many plays, concerts, sports events, and school activities with my children and grandchildren. I love to travel and have been to many countries throughout the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have studied the doctrines, principles and teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints extensively, and have prayed to know if they are true and from God. My fifty plus years of such study, including reading the Bible, Book of Mormon, and other works of the church church doctrine(that I have come to know are from God) many times, have given me an absolute conviction they are true and provide the best way for obtaining the maximum happiness possible in this life, and eternal joy with my family in the life to come after death.

How I live my faith

I live my faith mostly by the way I live my life daily and by constantly striving to be the kind of person I believe God wants me to be. First, and foremost in my life I try to be a good husband. I try to love my wife, and treat her in kind and loving ways. I strive to keep our romance alive and vibrant by dating her weekly and taking time to do small romantic things that matter to her. I try to listen to her and act on what I hear. As a father of five grown children, I stray in touch with them several times throughout the week. I help them with projects in their homes and yards. I attend church weekly with those that live in the area, and visit those out of state in person several times each year. I develop personal relationships with each of my nine grandchildren and share my spiritual values with them regularly, and just have lots of fun in way that they enjoy individually. In my professional life, I am careful to give my best efforts to my clients and be completely honest in all my dealing with them. In my daily life, I go out of my way to find opportunities to serve someone who needs help every day. I also look for opportunities to tell people I meet about my belief in Jesus Christ and in what that belief does to make my life more meaningful and happy.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

David Colvin
I know this is true. As I have read this in the Book of Mormon, I have had the Spirit of truth come into my mind and into my heart, confirming that this is true. Show more Show less
