Hi I'm Russell

I love wearing Vans. I love Denny's. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

21 years have passed and here I am. Born and raised in multiple places in the world. I love to travel, I definitely enjoy the feeling of waiting for an airplane and flying to different locations. I love adventure, not so much before, but I do now. I love to sing, I aspire to be a musician and will be pursuing more musical education. I love to laugh, so much so that I tear up. I definitely dislike being like everybody else, I crave individuality. On that same point, I find solace in conformity. I enjoy wearing skinny jeans, and white Vans Authentics. I enjoy looking good to me, not to everyone else. Some would call that narcissism, but I don't. I find nothing better than a cool night and a trip to Denny's.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I chose to seek out truth in my life. With the guidance of my parents, who joined the church in their 20's, I was able to see everything from a clear stance what the world had to offer, and what the true gospel of Jesus Christ had to offer. I had always known that God was there and loved me, and that Jesus Christ died for my sins, but I didn't know if this was the path that I wanted to follow. I had my back up against a wall of faith and I made my stand. I pleaded with God to know if the things that I had learned growing up were true. My answer was undeniable. I came to know that the Book of Mormon was true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet. That knowledge that I gained changed my life forever. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is the little everyday things that I do, or don't do. Living my faith means more to me than just going to church on Sundays and then forgetting about it through the week. I am currently living my faith by serving full-time mission in the Atlantic Provinces of Canada. It has been the wildest ride of my life and I am loving it to death. It's incredible how I can see the gospel of Jesus Christ change the lives of people that open an ear to listen.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible. It is God's word as is the Bible. It is a record of God's dealings with the ancient inhabitants of the Americas recorded by prophets of God. The Book of Mormon is also the evidence that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored through Joseph Smith, because it was through the power of God that Joseph Smith was able to translate the Book of Mormon. Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, they are. We are more commonly known as the "Mormon Church" but the true name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It wouldn't make sense to have Jesus Christ on the name of our church if we didn't believe in the Savior and Redeemer of the world, who is Jesus Christ. Christianity is the belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world, and I know that that is indeed what we believe. Show more Show less
