Hi I'm Camille :)

I'm a wife, mother, and early morning seminary teacher. I'm a Mormon and I love it!

About Me

I’m very happily married and the lucky mother to 4 wonderful children. Since the time I married 14 years ago, we have moved 10 times and lived in Utah, Indiana, Texas, and Iowa. I am getting very good at packing and unpacking! While we’ve had our struggles (graduate school with young children, postpartum depression, frequent moves, unemployment, job uncertainty and other big things), we have found that God is always there for us, no matter where we are or what stage of life we are in at the moment. He ultimately has the best plan and we are learning to trust that plan. Proverbs 3:5-6 seems to be thematic for my life. When I am not in the middle of moving, I enjoy being out in nature, watching the birds from my backyard window, singing while doing housework, listening to inspiring music or podcasts, playing with my kids, and going on walks with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised in the church, as a teenager I had to find out for myself what I believed. I did this by asking God in prayer, studying the scriptures (especially the Book of Mormon), and by committing myself to follow God’s path for me. I also watched many who were faithful members of the church and watched how their lives followed Christ and brought about much good. As time passed, I felt the fruits of the Spirit (Galations 5:22) witness the absolute truth to me of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I have felt this witness over and over again in my life many times. I love belonging to a church where EVERYONE is encouraged to get their own testimony of its truthfulness. I have a testimony that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I have a testimony that Joseph Smith restored Christ’s original church to the earth again. I know that the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the words of God written by holy prophets. I know the scriptures are true and are one of the biggest ways God speaks to us in these days. Another way God speaks to us is through living prophets and apostles, and I know they speak God’s words and are divine witnesses of Christ. I know by following the prophet my life and my family’s lives have been immensely blessed. The gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me and my family the greatest happiness of all in life, and I eagerly want to share that same happiness with others.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith on a daily basis, by first focusing on being the best mother and wife I can be. I know that my role of a mother and wife is of greatest worth and is therefore my highest priority. I also try to live my faith through nurturing my own testimony daily through meaningful scripture study and prayer. As often as I can, I try to go to the temple, where I am able to learn more about my purpose in life, feel close to my Heavenly Father, and serve others there. Part of living my faith is sharing my faith, and I strive to share that as often as I can. During the school year, I teach early morning seminary, which is a daily scripture study class to high school students. I also am called to look after the temporal and spiritual needs of 2 other women. In my community, I volunteer at my local elementary school and strive to help my fellow neighbors. In all these things, I find great joy through serving God and others, which is the essence of how I try to live my faith.
