Hi I'm Victor

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

While I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, first and foremost, I am a husband and father of six who is now sealed for time and eternity to my wife and children. I am also employed as the Director of Operations for a world renowned ski resort. Before joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I was a Chef for ten years. Being a Chef was something I loved but after baptism I realized that quality time with my family was what I really loved.

Why I am a Mormon

In 1990 I was supposed to work with my father in the family business, however, after high school those plans changed due to disagreements and financial challenges. While having a bad day in 1992, as a confused twenty year old who was now working at a car lot washing cars, I recalled an old conversation with my mother. She told me that whenever I needed help I could just ask God. I prayed out loud that very moment and told God that if he was real then he needed to show me. That night I received a call from a friend who invited me to come work in Sun Valley, ID. Upon arriving, I immediately began work and at the end of my first shift I decided that I was going to go home and make things right with my father. The Lord had other plans and I was struck by a truck and golf cart while making this decision. I suffered a broken leg which required me to stay in Sun Valley. After leaving the hospital, a girl, who also worked at the resort and had heard the story of my accident, began to bring me meals and help me recover. Eventually we began to date. We were married in 1995, had a son in 1996, and in 1997 decided to look into religion. We went to the LDS church since she was familiar with it as a child. I agreed to see the missionaries who challenged me to pray for knowledge of the truthfulness of the Gospel. A then Elder Eyring visited our Sun Valley ward in July of 1997, and while I did not know who he was, he bore a strong testimony of Jesus Christ to the congregation. I was invited to meet him as an investigator. He sat me down and bore testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel. He told me it would be the best thing that ever happend to me and to pray for the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I did so and was baptised the following week. I have grown much since the day of my baptism and have had time to reflect on all that has happened to me since that first day I prayed. The Lord simply would not let go of me.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the Stake Presidency as the 2nd Counselor after serving for 5 years as the Bishop of my ward and can testify that every aspect of my life is affected by my conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Conversion has led to the greatest moment in my life, being sealed for time and eternity to my wife and six children. Conversion has brought me closer to Heavenly Father by personal prayer, personal scripture study, and serving others. Conversion has led me to righteous relationships with my wife and children. It was through conversion that I gained the testimony of Jesus Christ as our Savior and the promise of the possibility of being with our Father in Heaven again.
