Hi I'm Barb

I am currently training for my first marathon. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am Canadian. A mother of four children. A wife to a wonderful man. I am perpetually on a quest to better myself. I am an adventure seeker. I love the outdoors. I love exercise. I have a lot of peace.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon, but I continue to be one because of my many personal experiences and witnesses of Christ. I remember as a small child trying to have my own "Joseph Smith" experience in the small grove of trees behind my house, and although I didn't receive any angels, or see God, I felt the spirit and it testified to me that where I was and what I was doing was right. I have clung to that experience ever since. I have felt my Saviour's arms around me in many different times in my life. For example when I decided to stop working because I was going to have children. When I was told that my second daughter was going to be born with a tumour in her Kidney. When my first child was diagnosed with ADD. And also when I ran my first 1/2 marathon. Following God's plan for me has given me more peace than I could have ever imagined. I know that it will for you too.

How I live my faith

Everyday, I find joy in the consistency of the Gospel. I talk to my Heavenly Father every day. I read scriptures every day. I try to live close to the spirit every day.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

God does not want us to be alone. So he sent us to earth to live in families. Even as we grown older and might lose some of our family to death, we still have a ward family or visiting teachers, or home teachers. God wants us to share our burdens with each other. Together we are stronger than alone. Show more Show less
