Hi I'm Alex

My 3 goals in life is to be a good friend, husband, and father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

There aren't too many great things about me. I have my talents and challenges just like everyone else. The two thing that especially differentiates me from others are my friends and family. I have a friend group that is unbelievably supportive of me. This may sound odd at first, but they are willing to tell me when I am wrong. This isn't to say that they bring me down or criticize my every move, but in matters of my character, morals, and standards, they are not afraid to voice up and tell me that I shouldn't do it. I have a family who bring immense happiness to my life. While cliche, it's true when I say that they will always be there for me. No matter the mistakes I make, they will always have me with open arms.

Why I am a Mormon

This question is similar as to why I am going on a mission. I try and ask return missionaries, current missionaries, and pre-missionaries why they went, or are going, on a mission. Their answers have surprisingly been very similar, and can be divided into 3 answers 1-They know that a mission will help them be a hard worker and therefore a good father and friend. 2-They have felt the atoning, cleansing, perfecting, and loving power of Jesus Christ and they want to share that with others. 3- Because God told them. Gaining a witness of this gospel and of Jesus Christ is a paradox of complexity and simplicity. While there are many difficult and interesting aspects to look at, my simple answer as to why I am a Mormon is that God himself has revealed to me that this gospel is the way to become the best friend, husband, and father. He has told me, through the holy ghost, that it this gospel is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow the examples and commandments laid before me by the different sources of the word of God. More specifically, I try and magnify my calling so I can improve myself, edify myself and others, and continue to grow intellectually and spiritually. Right now I am on my mission and I am serving the people of McAllen Texas in the Spanish Language.

What is faith?

I can find no better description of faith than in the Bible Dictionary. Look it up and study the principle of faith. Understand that the testing of our faith is the underlying concept of the Plan of Happiness. If we had faith, we would be willing to submit ourselves to the cause and will of God. With faith, we can stave off the hardships of trials, and find happiness in life and most importantly in eternity. Knowing this, we can also understand why it is so hard to have faith and find the truth. For if you knew the truthfulness of the gospel unconditionally, would you not act accordingly? Our faith in Jesus Christ is the first principle of the gospel, and will also be the hardest to know and keep through our trials. Show more Show less
