Hi I'm Jillian

I'm a Canuck, I love moose and hockey and I'm a Mormon eh!

About Me

I am Canadian and oh so proud of it! My roommates and family would go so far as to say that I’m obsessed with the Motherland. Going right along with being a proud Canuck, I absolutely love hockey- Go Flames! I’m a city slicker with redneck roots and I’ve got the best family in the world! I think a field full of hay bales is the prettiest thing ever, I love to eat meat, I have a slight phobia of phones, and I hate cheese. I am currently going to school in Texas, where I plan to graduate in May as a Dental Hygienist. That is if I survive boards…

Why I am a Mormon

I’m a Mormon because I can’t imagine being any happier than I am now. I know my Father in Heaven loves me, I know I am His child, and I know what he wants of me and what I have to do to return to Him someday. Knowing these things brings purpose and fullness to my life. The standards and values that come with being a Latter Day Saint help us achieve our highest potential. I work each day at becoming a better person. It sounds so cliché, but I really do! Growing up in the church and going through the Young Women’s program as a youth really helped me to identify who I was and who I wanted to be. I love being a Mormon, as hard as it may sometimes be, and I wouldn’t change it for the world!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by simply striving each day to be better. That’s all God asks of us, eh? But if we’re talking literally here, then I’ve probably got the best calling in the world- branch primary chorister! I serve my branch and community by teaching the primary children songs. It is a blast! I love kids- they have such sweet and simple testimonies. Being part of that growing process is unbelievable. I wouldn’t trade it for the world! Being down here in South Texas where the church is smaller has taught me so much about service and participation. I get a lot of opportunities to work with the missionaries and help out with all the branch activities. It’s great!
