Hi I'm Melissa

I am a college graduate, a wife, and a stay at home mother of twin boys and a baby girl. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

A little over a year ago my husband and I were surprised to find out that we were expecting twin boys. A month and a half before I gave birth, we moved across the country so that my husband could begin a PhD program on the east coast. I decided to leave a career as an elementary school teacher so that I could stay at home and raise my boys. The past several months have been a blur of sleepless nights, crying babies, thousands of diapers, and countless hours of nursing. Even though it has not been easy, I have loved being a mom. I believe that the love I feel for my boys has given me a glimpse of the love our Heavenly Father has for me and all of his children. Their smiles, giggles, and hugs fill me with incredible joy. When I am not bouncing babies I enjoy reading, running, and getting to know other young moms in my community.

Why I am a Mormon

Living the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brings me happiness and peace. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that if I do my best to live my life as He lived his, my family and I can live with Him and our Heavenly Father when we die.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by studying the scriptures and praying each day on my own. I also read the scriptures to my children, teach them about Jesus Christ, and pray with them. I attend church meetings each Sunday with my family and I do my best throughout the week to live a Christlike life. I have an assignment to visit a few women from my congregation regularly. These women have become my friends as I have spent time with them, taught them, and served them.
