Hi I'm Beverly

I'm a mom of three boys from the Philippines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom to three beautiful boys and wife to a very wonderful husband. I love being a stay at home mom and working for my family despite giving up work at one of the top corporate companies here in the Philippine Islands. I now enjoy cooking, sewing, cross stitching, scrap booking, gardening and home organizing. I love to run and listen to music while running. I laugh heartily and smiling is an accessory I always bring with me. I enjoy reading books and writing in my journal. I love my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because when I was twelve my father after prayerful consideration and missionary visits decided to join the church as a family. I will be forever grateful to him for that one big decision. My conversion did not take place right then and there. It happened gradually, slowly while I was attending church meetings and youth activities, participating in seminaries and institutes program, studying the scriptures and attending almost every church activity. Now I would say I stayed being a Mormon because here is where the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ lies. Here I have been taught our Saviors plan of happiness and by following the Saviors example and teachings my life has been made easy despite many challenges and difficulties. Here I learned to spend my resources only on that which matters most, which is my family.

How I live my faith

As individuals and as a family we offer our daily prayers. We read our scriptures separately and as a family. My boys with ages seven, six and three each take turns reading a verse or two on their own scriptures. We hold a weekly family home evening every Monday. We seek out wholesome recreational activities on a regular basis. Every Sunday, we attend a three hour service which includes the sacrament, where we remember the sacrifice made by the Savior Jesus Christ. We also do our best during Sundays to attend to our various church responsibilities. We search out our dead ancestors and bring out their names in the temple for necessary ordinances there. We visit the temple of the Lord in Cebu Island once a month to perform ordinances there. My husband and I don’t eat for two meals every first Sunday of the month and offer the amount of money for our supposed meal to those who need the assistance most. We pay ten percent of my husband’s monthly income as tithing. We do not smoke, don’t drink coffee, tea and alcoholic beverages. We don’t take harmful drugs or anything that would bring harm to our body. We’re in the process of storing a years worth of food supply and emergency kits as advised by our leaders.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We believe the Bible to be the word of God, we regard it as Holy scripture and study it regularly along with other revealed scriptures such as the Book of Mormon, Doctrines and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price. These four books work hand in hand in revealing to us God's plan of happiness and in testifying about the divinity of the Savior Jesus Christ.  Show more Show less
