Hi I'm Tifani

I'm a mom. I'm a friend. I'm a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a nurse by education and a mother by choice. I feel like my degree in nursing has helped me to really have a laid back approach to parenthood, because I've seen worse, I don't worry too much! I have two beautiful daughters (and a little boy on the way!) that keep me super busy. I love being outside! I love hiking, driving in the mountains, going on picnics, and simply walking around the block with my family. I LOVE volleyball and I love to exercise! Teaching free aerobics classes at the church for the ladies in the area makes me very happy. We all bring our children and enjoy the time socializing and sweating together!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and enjoyed the songs and lessons I had learned from my childhood, but had never seriously read the Book of Mormon or considered my own beliefs. When I was just beginning my teenage years I was listening to a speaker who was talking about the Book of Mormon. I felt a strong impression that I needed to start really reading the Book of Mormon to decide for myself if it were true. I remember as I started to read I felt hungry for more and was excited to continue each day. By the time I had finished reading I had had countless feelings of peace that what I was reading really happened and that Joseph Smith had really translated the book. I knew in my heart that I wanted to do whatever it took to learn more and continue to grow in faith. I have tried to do this as I've grown older. As I reflect back on my life I see the ups and downs that have brought me to where I am at right now. I am positive that a loving Heavenly Father listens to and answers my prayers. He listens to me even when I am not deserving of His attention. I know that He sent his son Jesus Christ to earth to teach us how to live and serve other people. I am grateful for the atonement of the Savior. He has healed my heart many times and is teaching me how to be more like Him. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that there is a prophet on the earth today to teach us more of God's word. I have gained a clearer understanding of why I am on the earth today by being a member of the church. This perspective helps me in every decision I make and in my simple every day life!

How I live my faith

My freshmen year of high school I was in a serious car accident that authorities say I should not have lived through. The experience was actually a very positive one for me that helped me to recognize the hand of a loving Heavenly Father in my life. I was strongly impressed that I still had work to do here and that there was a reason my life had been spared. I feel like one of the ways I can thank Him for my extra time here on earth is by faithfully keeping His commandments and serving the people around me. My family and I enjoy attending church each Sunday. I have the privilege of teaching the children 3-11 years old church songs. I thoroughly enjoy this, because each song teaches simple basic truths! The children are so excited and pure and teach me so much by their sweet examples! At different times I have been associated with the women and youth of the church as a teacher. Each of these times I have been amazed at the extra strength and insight that I am given- Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ truly care about each person! As I daily read the scriptures and pray I am strengthened and receive help in trying to figure out how to teach my children the things they need to know. Sigh. I don't think I could do this without divine help! :)

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

YES! This brings me so much peace. When I was growing up I was always terrified to lose somebody that I loved. The only way I could cope with such a loss is the sure knowledge I have that families can be together forever! This is part of the reason temples are so important to us. It is there that the sacred ordinances of sealing families together takes place! I am so grateful that I can be together forever with my family! Eternity would be a LONG time without being with the people that I love! Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

ABSOLUTELY! The official name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! We are a part of Jesus Christ's restored church! We believe whole-heartedly in the bible (as long as it is translated correctly) and we also believe The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. He is the center of our religion!
