Hi I'm Scott

I was raised in Las Vegas, NV. I enjoy running, reading, skiing, and playing soccer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated high school in 2010 and since then time has flown. I studied at Brigham Young University for a summer and fall before putting my life on hold in order to serve a mission for the church. It has been the greatest experience of my life to see people's lives change as they come closer to the Savior. I have two younger brothers and two younger sisters at home that I really love (as well as my parents). Families are the best. I used to run track/XC, but now I just run to enjoy it. I also like skiing, playing soccer, and reading good books.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a witness from the Holy Ghost that this is the Church of Jesus Christ and that He leads it today through His prophet. When I was thirteen I realized that I had lived my life as a member of the church, but I didn't even know if that's what I wanted. I decided that I needed to find out for myself if it was true and so I proceeded to ask, seek, and knock by reading the Book of Mormon and praying about it. I received an answer that it was true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet. Since then I have experienced additional whisperings of the Holy Ghost that have strengthened my conviction of the truthfulness of the Gospel and of the divinity of Jesus Christ. Living the Gospel blesses my life in so many ways. I'm happier, healthier, and much more useful than I ever would be without it. My beliefs give me a perspective that transcends the monotony of daily living and provides purpose and peace to my life. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

There is a scripture in the Book of Mormon that I really like. It says, "And now behold, I say unto you that the right way is to believe in Christ, and deny him not; and Christ is the Holy One of Israel; wherefore ye must bow down before him, and worship him with all your might, mind, and strength, and your whole soul; and if ye do this ye shall in nowise be cast out." (2 Nephi 25:29) I believe in Jesus Christ, and because of that I try to make Him a part of my everyday life. I'm not very good at it and I make a lot of mistakes, but I am trying and He still blesses me for it. I love reading the scriptures and praying and attending church. I love going to church and taking the sacrament because of the opportunity it gives me to repent and recommit myself to His Gospel. Doing these small and simple things are really good, but living my faith is so much more. It involves being kind to people, even when they are rude. It means being willing and ready to help those who are in need. It means being patient with others and with myself when hardships come up. I also try to share the message of the Atonement and the Restoration of the Gospel with others through my actions and my words, because I know how much happiness it can provide to all.
