Hi I'm Jenean

I grew up in Kentucky, went to college in Idaho and now live in Connecticut! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 24 and I graduated college close to a year a half ago now. I studied culinary arts, and marriage and family studies. While at college I met my husband, and we have now been married for 1yr and 7 months. I spend my free time walking our dog, and taking pictures and painting with oils.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a young girl I used to think that it was wierd how much my family went to church. None of my friends went up to three times a week... but during high school I realized why all that time spent at church was so important. While my friends were struggling with school, relationships, and numerous other things high school students deal with, I already had answers to all those crazy life questions. I didn't have to worry, i already had the standards in place to help me get through many challenges. I'm a Mormon because with the gospel I don't have to second guess myself or wonder what this life is all about. I'm not a perfect person but I have learned to pick myself up and always keep trying, and the church helped me with that.

How I live my faith

At church I have worked in youth programs mostly. I help plan activities and give the teenage girls at church someone they can talk to whenever. Right now I am in charge of a primary class. They are a group of kids 6 and 7 yrs old. They are super high energy and they love attention. I like getting to spend time with them on sundays and help them learn songs and have a lesson with them.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Jenean
Mormon women are just like women all over the world. We juggle work, families, cooking, and cleaning. I believe that they had it right when they wrote in the constitution that all men are created equal that includes women. No one is more or less important to our Heavenly Father than anyone else. In the church men and women have differing responsibilities but that does not mean anyone is less important than anyone else. Show more Show less
