Hi I'm Jeff

I hunt, I fish, I like to win & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 21 years old and I am serving a mission in Portland, Oregon. I am from Centerville, Utah. I grew up in an LDS home in the "bubble" of Utah. I went to a year of school in Iowa before my mission and played junior college baseball. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. There aren't many (if any) things better than being out in the mud/cold huntin ducks. I love to spend time with my family and friends and just have a good time. I am somewhat laidback and I try to do what I can to be happy...being happy is the most important thing to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is Christ's church on the earth today. I was fortunate enough to grow up in the church and to have always had the church there. I feel that I have been able to find out for myself that it is true by the feelings that I get when I am reading from the scriptures, praying, and going to church. I don't have the feelings of peace, happiness, and joy when I am not doing those simple things. I know that God loves me and has put me in this path for a reason.

How I live my faith

I really just try to do my best and do what I feel is right. There are always things we can learn from people around us that apply to the Gospel. When I look at myself and try to turn my weaknesses into strengths...I attribute that desire to be better to the Savior and his teachings. I know that if something I am doing is wrong then I can go to my Heavenly Father and ask him what I need to do and I will be able to get an answer. I strive to keep the commandments and do my best to continually repent and progress as a person. I also try my best to be an example as a member of the church and to stand up for what I believe in. I am not perfect and I don't plan to be perfect in this life. I also try to look for the best in people and to not dwell on their weaknesses. When we see the best in people and love them no matter what their downfalls are that's a sign we are practicing what we preach.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Jeff
My family is the most important thing to me in my life. The Gospel has really blessed my family and has really brought my family closer together. I know that the struggles that we have had would not have been resolved if it wasn't for the church. I also consider my close friends my family too. I know that the church really has helped us stay out of trouble and have that deep desire to be better people. I know for a fact that without the church I wouldn't be where I am now and I can say the same about all my family and my close friends that are LDS. Show more Show less
