Hi I'm Joe Harless

My name is Joe, I work on Motorcycles, I play basketball, I play the guitar and piano and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old, and love to be active. My hobbies are motorcycles, the guitar and piano and playing basketball. I enjoy these things. since i was little my dad taught my sisters and i the importance of practice. Everyday he would come home from work and take my sisters and i out to the church and practice our basketball skills. He had a dream that all of us 4 kids would be able to get through college and that was a way for us to acheive that dream. as you can see already my father is a big part of my life. Like my father my mother has taught my sisters and i many important things. She's taught me to always think of others before myself. My mother has been suffering with breast cancer for the past 3 years. Her illness has helpped me learn that things happen and that Heavenly Father is doing what is best for us. I always asked why does god allow bad things to happen to good people. Through my mohter's trial i have answered my own question. Bad things have to happen so better thangs can come about in our lives. If it wasn't for all those people died during the american revolution then we wouldn't have a country of our own. If the Blacks never would've been put into slavery then their children and grandchildren and so on would've never would've know what it was like to live free. God has given me a great life and a woderful path that leads back to him and that is the temple. That is where my happiness lies and others can find that same happiness if they only humble themselves and open that door to eternal life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and so it was easy for me to be a member of the church. But when it came time for me to come out on my mission I had to know for myself of it's truthfullness. I onlt read the Book of Mormon once but i read it just to say i read it. So I read the intro duction to the book and i then prayed about it. The feeling i recieved wasn't huge but enough to let me know Heavenly Father was answering my prayer. I felt warm and good inside and i felt calm and like it was true. That's why i am a mormon. Because of the smallest prayer from the most unworthy person.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving a mission and will return home in December 2011
