Hi I'm Cyndy

I'm am from Alabama and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of one, step-mother of four and grandmother of four. I am a recent college graduate and IT professional in the tourism industry.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I started dating my current husband. He is also a convert and had been a member for about 12 years. As I learned about the church I found the answers to questions I had about things taught in other religions. I was especially attracted to the children and youth programs.

How I live my faith

I am the only Mormon my family and most of the people I work with know and so I try to be a good example. I avoid office gossip and politics and try to be forgiving when there are conflicts. My husband is famous for his willingness to serve, which generally involves the rest of the family as well. Sharing those experiences with others lets them know that not only do we believe in following the commandments of Christ, we have fun.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

My lifestyle is similar to my family and friends - except that I don't drink alchol. I work a full-time job outside the home. I spend about 5 hours a week on my church calling. Most of that is spent communicating with the sisters by phone or by email. My husband likes to do outdoor things such as camping and rock climbing. He is our ward Boy Scout leader and usually spends one weekend a month on an adventure with them. Although a lot of time is spent with our ward family, we also spend time with our families and friends who are not members. My family is especially fond of get togethers that involve large amounts of food. Most of us are Alabama football fans and we often gather to watch the game. Show more Show less
