Hi I'm Kelly

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been able to be a stay at home Mom. I feel that has been a great blessing to our family. I am married to my college sweetheart. My husband and I have four children, two grown children and two younger ones - We have a eight year gap in between and that keeps life interesting ! I enjoy reading and writing. I love my family.  I am thankful for the Savior and the ability to repent and change daily. I love the Savior's Atonement. It helps me. I know I can turn to Him. He understands. He makes change possible. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is about hope, it makes my life good.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to have parents who taught me of the restored gospel when I was very young. My mother joined the church shortly after I was born. When she would tell me about my Heavenly Father and Jesus, it just felt right. It was a warm. comfortable feeling. As I have grown up, I have been taught more and embraced the gospel, I love knowing that I have a Heavenly Father who knows me, personally and cares about what happens to me. I know He is always there for me and I can pray to Him anytime, anywhere, for any reason, nothing is too insignificant for Him to care about. I have always felt if it were important to me, it was important to Him as well. I have felt His love throughout my life. I love His beloved Son, Jesus Christ. He is my Savior, and he makes it possible for me to be able to repent of my mistakes and start again. I know that He can give us rest, Matthew 11:28 and that He can bring peace to our lives. He knows how to comfort and carry us, and I love Him for that! He also makes it possible to be able to return again one day to my Heavenly Father- I know I am His daughter and He loves me so very much. The Restored gospel helps me to know that I am His, that I am precious in His sight and my life has a purpose. It helps me to understand that my prayers are heard and answered. Because my prayers have been answered I can know that Heavenly Father heard and answerd a young Joseph Smith's prayer. Because of that answered prayer the restored gospel is upon the earth now. The gospel gives me great blessings- guidance for my life and how I teach our family, direction from a living prophet of God, protection in keeping the commandments of God and the opportunity to have my family be together - even after this mortal life. The gospel is true and I love it! It is everything to me!

How I live my faith

I was taught by a loving mother that it is so important to serve others, it helps them to see that someone cares. Our Heavenly Father cares deeply for all of us, and often uses us as His "instruments" in serving His children.  I try to follow impressions that I need to serve and help others. I feel that people are important and they need to be noticed. One of my favorite scriptues is found in the Doctrine and Covenants 18 10, " Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God." I have had people in my life who helped me to know this and I want to help others understand they are precious to Heavenly Father and that they matter to Him.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

nature- all the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, how the sun rises each morning, how plants grow from a tiny seed, rain and snowflakes, and rainbows- and the human body , so capable of so many things- the ability to see, hear, smell, taste, heal after illness or injury. I am amazed at all the countless things God has created and the sense of awe I feel when I see his creations. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

I feel one of the best ways to know our Heavenly Father is to pray, That may sound simple, but when we pray we are communicating with Him. He is the father of our spirits and we once lived in His presence. He loves us dearly and is interested in every aspect of our lives. I know my prayers have been heard and I have felt His love and comfort. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is expressing what we believe. A testimony might include tender feelings and a knowledge that God is our Heavenly Father, that He loves us and that He is genuinely concerned about us. That Jesus Christ is His beloved Son and our Savior and paid the price for sin in the garden of Gethsemane and laid down His life for us. Jesus Christ was resurrected and lives again, and He lives now. Joseph Smith did see God the Father and His Son and was directed in restoring the gospel on the earth, Joseph Smith also translated with God's direction, The Book of Mormon a volume of scripture that compliments the Bible. It tells of the people on the American continent before and after Christ. The Book of Mormon testifies again and again of the divine mission of Jesus Christ, it does not replace the Bible, but is another witness of the Savior. It ends with a promise that if we read and pray, we can know for ourselves that it is true. The gospel of Jesus Christ is restored on the earth, and we are led by a living prophet who speaks the will of God. Show more Show less
